Welcome Welcome to the Tennessee Department of Health's internship interest form. Assisting the Department in understanding what you would like to learn will help us identify the best opportunity available to you. If we find that your interests and our needs align, you will be contacted for a potential placement.
Application Process The Tennessee Department of Health has a centralized application process. To apply, please complete the application on the following pages. You will be asked to upload a resume as well as any placement requirements set forth by your academic program.
Your application will be forwarded to potential preceptors who will review your application and may request an interview or additional information.
Individuals will be notified of acceptance or denial approximately 30 days after the application period closes. Not all individuals can be accepted due to limited staff capacity or lack of match between individual goals and organizational needs.
Individuals who are accepted will be required to complete additional paperwork.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to participate in the program.

A student internship with the State of Tennessee does not entitle any individual to a job after the completion of their placement.
NOTE
The Tennessee Department of Health does not place student interns at metro public health departments.
